Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you probably know there was a lot of controversy over a male singer’s performance at the music awards. Not to get into the sad details, but you may want to ask yourself, is this the kind of music your kids should listen to? Many people have no clue about the lyrics in some of the songs their kids listen to. They also probably have no idea about what kind of person the artist actually is.

It may be a good idea to look into these things before just deciding that all music is OK. Maybe it’s not? Maybe you just don’t realize what is really being played and said. Imagine how many kids were watching the music awards. Or maybe even the Super Bowl show where an artist had an outfit reveal too much of themselves.

What you may want to consider is doing some checks into what you and your family watch and listen to. Watching what happened in the music award show could have been avoided by just saying no, I will not watch this kind of material.

The choice should not be up to the TV shows, it really is in the hands of the parents to know what may be shown.
