Funny, there are just some of us in the world that either love to dance or love to sing. We might belt out a tune in the shower or dance around on the hardwood floor in our socks waiting for the clothes to dry. Either way, it is our hearts that guide us to do these things. But that does not mean we should be doing it!

Lets face it, just because we have a dancers heart does not mean we can dance even a step. Sure, we have all known people that have the biggest heart when it comes to something like this. They may love dancing more than anything and truly strive to do well. But for some reason they just cannot get it together. It takes more than a big heart to be a really good dancer. You have to be born with some talent, and then at that point practicing and possibly getting some good instruction to further your skills along may come in handy. And there are those who just seem to pick up anything and run with it without much practicing at all.

So what category do you fall into, the heart or the moves?

OK, when I dance, and I’m sure most of you out there have heard this expression, I dance to the beat of my own drum. No matter how hard some of us try to dance to the beat of the music playing, it just does not work. So what are we to do, give up totally and never dance again? Or only dance in private where nobody can see us look foolish?

Well there is something that we can do about it. Dance lessons! That’s right; there is no shame in it at all. Lots of people do it. The first reason many take dance lessons is to really just learn how to do some basic dance moves. Some of us get forced to by loved ones. Others want to try and make a career out of it, or maybe for others it is to get in an enjoyable recreational activity that is a good and fun way to exercise.

No matter your reasons, dancing can be a blast, and once you learn how, you can stop fearing that others may see how badly you really dance.
